For more than 400 million years sharks are swimming in the world’s oceans. Please be noted that the existence of sharks is 100 million years before the existence of the first dinosaur. They have truly endured the tests of time. However, the same may not be applicable in the near future due to the rapidly diminishing rate of sharks globally. The main reasons for this shift in the marine ecosystem are due to commercial fishing, which has put several species at the risk of extinction. Unfortunately, sharks have fallen victim to the very man-hungry stereotype which the society had created for them. More than 100 million sharks are caught and killed by humans yearly on a global level.
